The copper caddy is a beautiful handmade expression of the designer Masuko Unayama-san's obsession with quality materials and traditional crafts. Created in Taitō-ku, Tōkyō. Made from pure copper sheets that are hand shaped, soldered and then polished with a coarse cloth to give a textured finish. The double lid creates a more airtight container without the use of artificial materials.
Copper ages beautifully, a rich patina forms and will reflect the passing of time and the use of the object.
Creator comments:“Monozukuri — stories to tell —
reflects our thinking.
Ordinary and natural,
modest ideas with really
bigspirit — good products, like good
ideas, take time. We prefer steady
progress rather than speed
for speed’s sake!"
