Designed by Watanabe-sama in Tsubama-shi, Nīgata-ken and created and finished by hand at the Shinko Metals Products Co Ltd, the Azmaya curated copper kettle is a beautifully designed stove-top kettle. The use of copper is both utilitarian and visually driven, it is a naturally excellent conductor of heat while it also develops a unique patina with daily use. Aesthetically it incorporates both modern design and traditional Japanese style.
As it ages the concept of wabi sabi is presented, the unique character of the patina is an imperfection on the initially flawless, bright copper surface.
